Becoming April

When we are little, we recognize certain people as our role models. People who we look up to and aspire to be like one day. People who will be an example of how to live life. However, there is a point in our lives where we need to stop trying to be like them, and start trying to find ourselves and live our own lives. I believe that at that point, life’s toughest obstacles are thrown at us. Some may see it as a set back, but you can't look at it that way. The obstacles are there to build us up in faith and personality. We cannot become our own person if we continue to live someone else’s life. We must experience, for ourselves, life’s ups and downs and learn how to face them in our own way. Those role models we had as a child weren’t born with their personality, nor was it earned easily, they too had to experience obstacles and hardships to get to where they are. So, if we look at it from an entirely different perspective, we find that we need to look, not to who they are, but to how they got that way, still keeping in mind that we too need to find our own ways to becoming an individual. Seeing how they overcame their obstacles as an example of how to become our own person, not seeing who they are as an example of who to be.

that makes me think of the end of a cinderella story when "Sam" (hilary duff) tells her friend who's an actor, when he's dressed as himself, that that's his best look. (that might have been a little confusing so sorry lol)

so ya...it's best when you're you! Apple cider :D
